Whickham Churches Together have organised this ‘Walk of Witness’. It begins at 11.00am, Fellside Methodist Church and ends at St Mary the Virgin Church, by the Green. Everyone is welcome to join this ecumenical gathering.

Forward Together in Hope
Forward Together in Hope is a three-year journey of renewal across the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle.
It is about all of us working together to explore and discern God’s will for our diocese.
Using information held centrally by the diocese and carrying out a thorough self-evaluation, each worshipping community will look in detail at how best it can flourish into the future. A key strength of the approach is that it will take place in the same way across the whole of the diocese.
The entire process will be firmly rooted in prayer and a real openness to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Resources will be provided to help worshipping communities to reflect prayerfully on the future challenges and opportunities. Forward Together in Hope is led and endorsed by Bishop Séamus and the Diocesan Board.
The first stage of the journey is Preparing the Way and is very much about raising awareness and seeking involvement from as many people in our parishes as possible ahead of the self-evaluation process that takes place between Pentecost (May) and Advent (November) this year.

‘No Greater Love Than This’ – Sung Passion Story by David Ritson
David Ritson who is an accomplished musician, will share with us the Passion Story of Jesus. This is an inspiring reflection which will help us all as we approach the sacred time of Holy Week. Friday 27th March, 7.00pm at St Mary’s Church, Whickham. All are welcome.

St Mary’s Primary School – New Headteacher!
School Governors are very pleased to announce that Mr Wheatley has been appointed as the new Headteacher of St Mary’s School, Whickham, from 1st September 2015. We wish him every blessing as he begins this important role in school, with parents and the wider parish community.
